Dane ‘Warrior Chief’ Nelson brought the Gary Crawford trained Golden Emperor with a telling stretch run to catch and beat Ashrid (Tevin Foster) to win the day’s eighth race at Caymanas Park a short while ago.
This was Nelson’s second winner on his return to local race riding after plying his trade in Canada.
Golden Emperor won at odds of 7-5 and paid $121 to win and $77 to place. Second was Ashtrid (4-1) with Break of Dawn third at odds of 22-1 with a place pay-out of $196.
