KINGSTON, Jamaica - Guyanese owner Javed Ali has confirmed that his charge, Olympic Kremlin is in the process of travelling to Jamaica to participate in the Mouttet Mile, which is scheduled to be contested on December 7.
The Brazilian-bred Olympic Kremlin is a seven-year-old chestnut horse by Japanese stallion Agnes Gold out of Sweet Lemonade by Lemon Drop Kid.
During his racing career, Olympic Kremlin won five races in Brazil for earnings close to US$90,000.
He then raced two times in Guyana, winning on both occasions, including the Guyana Cup on August 22, and the President’s Cup over a mile on Sunday last (September 22).
“Olympic Kremlin will be shipped to Miami, then to Jamaica to race in the Mouttet Mile. While in Jamaica he will be trained by Al Brown.
“I am looking forward to seeing him race in Jamaica and we have high expectations,” Ali shared with Quickgallopja.com.

“Florida-based Jamaican trainer Zarie Ricketts expressed his satisfaction, after his horse Olympic Kremlin, clinched victory in the prestigious Guyana President’s Cup at the Rising Sun Turf Club in West Coast Berbice on Sunday.
Ricketts was confident that his Brazilian thoroughbred would deliver, and a strong performance secured back-to-back major wins for Olympic Kremlin, following its triumph in the Guyana Cup just weeks earlier.
Ridden by jockey Acedenir Gulart, Olympic Kremlin powered through the one-mile feature race, crossing the finish line at 1:47 seconds. The win cements the horse’s dominance at the venue, as it had already conquered the same track in the Guyana Cup. Nova Sol and Easy Time claimed second and third places respectively.
For Ricketts the victory was pleasing, seeing that his horse beat some of his more fancied opponents.
“Words can’t express how happy I am for this victory. I am extremely pleased with how the race was executed and the manner how the race was won was impressive, said Ricketts.
Ricketts had high praise for his fellow trainer Leino Veira, who flew in from Brazil to help with the preparations.
Also playing a major role was Trinidadian trainer Jon O’Brien who forms part of the training team for owner Javed Ali.
“My team put in a lot of work and they were always there to help with the preparations. We expect big things from this horse, and hopefully, we can take a crack at the big Mouttet Mile in Jamaica later this year, as our preparations are already underway.”
