Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited (CPJ) has reaffirmed its partnership with Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), the promoters of horseracing in Jamaica, as an official sponsor of the 2024 Mouttet Mile Invitational, set for December 7 at Caymanas Park.
The Mouttet Mile Invitational, a Grade One event for three-year-olds and up over a mile, will offer a record purse of US $250,000 this year. Now in its third year, the race is gaining more international recognition, attracting elite horses and jockeys from around the globe.
Natesha Powell, CPJ’s brand manager for spirits and beverages, highlighted the importance of the sponsorship, stating, “This is our third year sponsoring the Mouttet Mile, and it’s a perfect fit for us. Woodford Reserve is the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby, and we wanted to bring that same prestige to Jamaica. Last year was our first-time introducing Woodford Reserve at the event, and the feedback was phenomenal. This bourbon is relatively new to the Jamaican market, and there’s no better platform to showcase it than the Mouttet Mile.”
This year’s Mouttet Mile will be preceded by a series of events under the banner "Trail to the Mile." CPJ will host the first event on September 28, featuring a special Woodford Reserve tasting. Each event will give fans a preview of the premium experience awaiting them at the Mouttet Mile.
