Pack Plays #6
Pack Plays #6

KINGSTON, Jamaica - The seventh race on Saturday, September 21, 2024, is an Overnight Allowance going 6 ½ furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome is given below in draw order.

1 - PACK PLAYS enters the fray of competitive racing in Jamaica.  This three-year-old has caught the eyes of morning onlookers and with two wins from nine starts in the United States Pack Plays is expected to deliver on debut at the Park.

2 - MONEY MONSTER while being consistent has not found the winning post in front in his last eight starts. No change in that direction is expected.

3 - SUPER ALEX has made one entry in Overnight (September 18), finishing sixth, twelve lengths behind the winner, D Head Cornerstone. Needs more time to come to grips with the terms and conditions of this new grouping.

4 - TAURUS BOY is not given much chance of winning this one.

5 - FREEDOM STREET is a regular in this grade. This gelding is slowly returning to some form having finished second on his last try on September 7 behind Sensational Move at five furlongs straight. Has to be placed in the exacta.

6 - PERFECT BREW has only raced three times in 2024. He struggled on his third attempt (August 17) ending in fifth place, seven lengths behind the winner. At his best, Perfect Brew can handle these, especially with the distance about right. However, this regular campaigner in Overnight has to be treated with caution, yet given the composition of this field, Perfect Brew has to be given every chance of winning.

 7 - BURLAP is a late non-starter.

CONCLUSION - The appearance of foreigner Pack Plays adds a new dimension to the local racing product. This three-year-old colt secured his second win from nine starts in February 2024, coming from behind. Freedom Street is the likely leader with Pack Plays chasing. Perfect Brew is his typical style will be well off the pace, hoping to strike in the straight. This event will be decided by the three aforementioned horses, with Perfect Brew getting the edge. A wait-and-see attitude has been adopted with Pack Plays for now.
