Three-year-old bay colt Waterman John, after nine career starts, finally found his head in front at the wire in a native-bred three-year-olds over 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m) on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Caymanas Park.

Waterman John, trained by Fitzgerald Richards and ridden by Tevin Foster, exited his starting stall in good order, quickly assuming the early advantage. Waterman John led ahead of Simply Sensational (Bebeto Harvey), War Horse (Phillip Parchment), and Oh My (Matthew Bennett) down the backstretch.

Waterman John maintained his gallop until approaching the distance when he began to open up on rivals and continued his way to an easy 6 ½ length win margin at the wire. Joblane (Shavon Townsend) came home in second place with War Horse getting third place in a final time of 1:21.0 (24.2 x 48.1 x 1:14.0).
