Hologram Shadow/Mamdeen disqualified – 8-1 chance Formal Justice the winner

WINNING POST - CAYMANAS PARK --

KINGSTON, Jamaica – After leading, then backing from off the pace set by Okahumpka and Necromancer, Hologram Shadow ridden by leading rider apprentice Christopher Mamdeen rallied in deep stretch to go by the winning post as the winner of the day’s tenth event – an Optional Claimer ($350,000 - $300,000) run over 5 ½ furlongs.

However, In getting by the winning post in front, Mamdeen veered down on Formal Justice, who was traveling on the inside rails causing what was eventually termed interference and intimidation to Formal Justice who finished second by a neck with Aaron Chatrie on board.

As expected there was a stewards’ inquiry and, of course, a jockey’s objection by Chatrie.

The stewards did not take long to haul down Hologram Shadow's number from first place leaving the winner as the 8-1 chance Formal Justice trained by Donovan Russell. Hologram Shadow was demoted to second while El Cliente (Samantha Fletcher 28-1) ran on for third.
