KINGSTON, Jamaica – The St Leger Day race card proved a good one for trainer Cleveland Michell who was able to saddle his first winner from six starts this season, when his charge Forest Rose won the fourth race on the day.
Ridden by apprentice Kiaman McGregor, Forest Rose had to stave of a determined Super Glitterman (Reyan Lewis) in a duel which developed over the last two furlongs of the five-straight event for horses in the Restricted Allowance 111 class (five-year-olds and upwards – non-winners of four).
In the end, Forest Rose racing in the middle of the track just got the better of Super Glitterman on the inside rails by a short head.
