KINGSTON, Jamaica – From the starter let them go in the 8th, it was a front-end duel between 4-5 favourite Beach Boy and El Gringo in a maiden three-year-old - 6 ½ furlong contest.
In the straight, Beach Boy faded badly as El Gringo under a measured ride from Omar Walker found much more, pulling away for a 1 ½ length victory over Purple Wayne who was coming on well. San Siro was third.
El Gringo went off at odds of 7-2.
