RACE ONE – Racing for the 20th time, Iannai Links, who has not been able to race consistently, registered his third win for trainer Jason DaCosta and jockey Reyan Lewis. While Anthony Thomas is the first stable rider for DaCosta, punters are noticing that the trainer has been fanning out his horses in recent times. DaCosta has been utilizing the services of Jerome Innis, Chris Mamdeen, Phillip Parchment, and Reyan Lewis. Win number one on the day for both DaCosta and Lewis.
RACE TWO – The recent upsurge in form of trainer Rowan Mathie continued when Toughness made one move with Jordan Barrett aboard. For Mathie it was his 11th success this year, while Barrett was earning his eighth.
RACE THREE – The riding prowess of Shane Ellis was again in full display aboard the Gary Crawford trained Pro Johnny. Ellis waited well off the pace as the leaders set about their business. Quite unperturbed, the ‘Canter Man’ continued to wait, until getting a clear path on the inside rails. It was a maiden win for Pro Johnny from nine starts.
RACE FOUR – This was the 2022 renewal of the nine furlongs and 25 yards Royal Dad Trophy. Although only six horses were entered a tussle involving D Head Cornerstone, foreigner Real Boss and Perfect Brew. The first two did not show up at the dance, leaving 10-1 under achieving filly Sunset Silhoutte and Perfect Brew to fight it out. That both horses did until the final furlong when Reyan Lewis asked Perfect Brew for a final effort, the gelding responded by pulling away to win by 4 ½. Race goers should pay attention to Sunset Silhoutte, a half sister to She’s A Maneater, the hope is finally she will start a more progressive trend in her career. Win number two on the day for Lewis.
RACE FIVE – Finally, after 12 runs, She’s My Friend shed the maiden tag. This bay filly will find more success at non-two, especially between distances of six furlongs to a mile. Win number three for jockey Reyan Lewis and the second for trainer Jason DaCosta.
