KINGSTON, Jamaica – The first race on Sunday is a maiden condition event for three-year-olds, who have not earned $260,000 lifetime. The journey is six furlongs.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’s assessment of the 10 entries is offered below.
– KETURAH is a bay filly (April 14) by Legal Process out of Kalamata trained by Patrick Lynch with Tevin Foster aboard. Keturah weakened on last (September 11) going 5 ½ furlong. Now at 6 furlongs, Keturah will be hoping for a place on the board.
– TAPIT GOOD is an imported in utero chestnut colt (April 14) by Tapiture out of Forty Fifteen trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins aboard.  Getting closer and closer while being heavily backed. The distance is right for Tapit Good, he has no reason not to win. Note, Tapit Good races with the visor on.
– LADY BEN is a bay filly (January 9) by Here Comes Ben out of Lady Maragin trained by Michael Marlowe with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Has not found her way in 17 starts. Can be discarded.
– GIVEMETHELIGHT is a grey colt (March 9) by Nasheet out of Skipping Sue trained by Gary Griffiths with Nicholas Hibbert aboard. Will not trouble the principals.
– PREMIER IDENTITY is a chestnut filly (April 5) by Bern Identity out of Twist And Turn trained by Howard Jaghai with Ramon Nepare aboard. Slowly finding her way. Premier Identity finished second 28 days ago behind One Like It going five furlongs round. Having shown progress, Prime Identity has more than an outsider’s chance of winning.
– CALL THE EMPEROR is a bay gelding (April 1) by Emperor Hall out of Call For A Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Roger Hewitt aboard. Needs more time. Note, Call The Emperor races with the blinkers off.
– MANACO is a chestnut colt (April 9) by Lion Tamer out of The Golden One trained by Anthony Nunes with Shane Ellis aboard. Has hit the board twice in his six efforts to date. Manaco is among rivals he can handle but will have to make every hoof imprint right.
– TIGRAY EXPRESS is a bay colt (April 23) by Traditional out of Kiri trained by Patrick Lynch with Reyan Lewis aboard. The best Tigray Express can hope for is a place in the top four.
– SALUD is a bay filly (April 11) by Bridled Quest out of Lunar Explosion trained by Ryan Darby with Matthew Bennett aboard. Salud lost all possibility of winning five days ago when she threw her rider just after leaving her starting barrier. Salud should be given another chance.
– NEVER ON A SUNDAY is a bay filly (April 20) by Midnight Hawk out of Kenzie’s Charm trained by Maurice Crooks with Chalrick Budhai aboard. Has been away for 127 days. Will learn from the experience.
