KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Caymanas Saturday (July 9, 2022) race card got off to a reasonable start for bettors with third choice in the betting at 2-1 Sweet Medicine obliging under the guidance of jockey Aaron Chatrie.
This was the second career success for Sweet Medicine and it was achieved in a three-year-old and upwards Claiming event with a tag of $250,000 - $200,000 going six furlongs.
The David Lee Sin trainee followed early leader Poker Star (Romario Spencer) from the gates opened with Chatrie biding his time. The two front-end combatants entered the straight locked together but as soon as they did so, Sweet Medicine began her surge going on to win by all of 13 ¾ lengths.
Second was Poker Star at 7-1 with Sweet Surprise third.
