KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a determined ride, champion jockey Anthony Thomas rallied Luana trained by Errol Waugh to repel the persistent challenge of apprentice Tevin Foster aboard Top Eagle. This was Thomas' second winner on the day.
The race was in the day’s seventh event – a claiming event for horses in the bracket of $350,000 - $300,000 run over a mile.
Second went to Top Eagle with third the slot of Jamaican Citizen.
Nine claims were dropped in the box for Luana with the pair of trainer Randolph Scott and owner Kevin Whitter carrying home Luana after the draw was made.
The winning time for Luana who went off at odds of 7-2 was 1:43.3.
