KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Tevin Foster achieved a welcoming triple when he piloted the Anthony Nunes trained 5-1 chance Bern Notice to victory in the Caymanas Saturday eighth – a four-year-old and upwards (non-four) call at a mile. Foster had already won aboard Victoria’s Medallion for trainer Leroy Tomlinson and he benefitted from a chance ride on Poker Star for trainer Fitzgerald Richards.
This race lost some of its venom when Classical Orb was declared a late non-starter having bolted, and after the gates opened it was Bern Notice on the outside along with True Al Sky (Dick Cardenas) and Prince Marshall (Reyan Lewis)who were all locked in battle for the lead. T Brady (Paul Francis), at this stage, was racing comfortably in fourth place.
Bern Notice and Foster made their move with three furlongs left in the event followed closely by T Brady. The two battled hard against each other during the stretch run with Bern Notice getting the job done by 1 ¼ lengths over T Brady with Santorini (Omar Walker) third.
