KINGSTON, Jamaica – The final offering (Easter Monday) on the three-day Easter Carnival got off to a favourable start for most punters with the 4-5 favourite Okahumpka obliging for trainer Donovan Russell and jockey Shane Richardson.
Okahumpka achieved his fifth career success from 58 starts in a five-year-old and upwards claiming ($180,000 - $150,000) event going three furlongs.
It wasn’t much of a contest, as Okahumpka from the gates opened went to the lead on the outside and was never tested, eventually winning by close to four lengths.
Freedom For Eds (Anthony Thomas) finished second with Princess Statistic (Jordan Barrett) third.
