PRINCE SANJAY STARTS 3-RACE EASTER CARNIVAL AT 6-1

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Prince Sanjay got the historic three-day Easter Racing Carnival off to a rollicking start by winning the Caymanas Saturday (April 16) first at odds of 6-1.
The Caymanas Saturday (April 16) first was a three-year-old maiden event going nine furlongs and 25 yards.
From the off, jockey Romario Spencer on Prince Sanjay for trainer Steven Todd pushed his mount to go for the lead. Prince Sanjay responded and by the time they straightened on the backstretch was setting the splits with Spencer standing tall in the saddle. Prince Sanjay was followed by Secret Emperor (Bebeto Harvey) and Sir Tajay (Roger Hewitt).
Rounding the final turn, Prince Sanjay was in total command, and then pulled away to win by eight lengths in a final time of 2:01.1. Prince Sanjay’s stablemate Sir Tajay (Roger Hewitt) finished second to hand the quinella to trainer Todd with Secret Emperor third.
The odds-on 4-5 favourite El Cid and the 7-2 second favourite Asurety finished fourth and fifth respectively.
