THE 2021 HOTLINE STAKES FIELD – WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Secret Identity is the best of the lot

KINGSTON, Jamaica – THE QUICK GALLOPER revisits the 2021 Hot Line Stakes to find out how the eight participants have feared since then.

This analysis is done in the order the horses finished.

FIRST: Action Ann – Did well to win this major prep race for the Classis. Since that March 13, 2021 victory for trainer Christopher Pearson and jockey Omar Walker, Action Ann has not progressed. The career of this filly has been severely hampered by injuries, rendering further development difficult. Action Ann recently changed trainers, yet to date, she has not been able to change her fortunes.

SECOND: Secret Identity – This filly just failed by a neck to land the Hot Line. Following that close effort, Secret Identity has had to deal with her injury issues, yet because of ginger handling by her conditioner Tensang Chung, she has advanced to be the best of this Hot Line lot. Secret Identity is now campaigning in the Open Allowance | Graded Stakes category, racing for the first time in this class just last week. Secret Identity will eventually win here.

THIRD: Sure Curlin – Since this third-placed effort in the Hot Line, Sure Curlin has been lethargic and that trend is continuing to this day.

FOURTH: Three Times Lucky – This filly has found it difficult since the endeavour in the Hot Line. Subsequently, Three Times Lucky has not achieved, entering the claiming ranks ($525,000) on Saturday, March 5, 2022, and was duly taken.

FIFTH: Magenta – Since participating in the 2021 Hot Line, Magenta has not been seen or heard from.

SIXTH: Katalina – Still struggling to deal with her conditions.

SEVENTH: Silver Hawk – No major growth since the Hot Line.

EIGHTH: Magical Mood – The struggles of this filly continue.
