Another winner for leading rider Dane Dawkins
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Three-year-old chestnut colt by Bern Identity out of Blufield, Blue Vinyl opened his account after three starts with a convincing win in the Caymanas Ash Wednesday second.
Racing with first time Lasix, Blue Vinyl with leading rider Dane Dawkins in the saddle for trainer Patrick Lynch, tasted victory in a three-year-old maiden condition event at six furlongs.
From the gates opened Blue Vinyl was in the early mix, disputing the lead with Funometer (Tevin Foster), with the 2-5 favourite Rum Puncher (Dane Nelson) joining the leading group on the outside.
Rounding the bend, Blue Vinyl took over to bring the field in the lane for the stretch run. After that Blue Vinyl increased his gallop to win by three lengths in a time of 1:15.1 on what continues to be a slow track.
Sir Tajay (Oshane Nugent) ran on well for second, with Get A Pepsi doing the same for the third placing.
