There are three trophy races on a packed 11-race card tomorrow at Caymanas Park.
The Princess Popstar for two-year-olds non-winners of two and maidens; the Ahwhofah Sprint (six furlongs) at the Overnight Allowance level and the Miracle Cure Sprint (5 ½ furlongs) for three-year-olds non-winners of two.
The Ahwhofah has attracted 13 starters and main interest surrounds the long-awaited return to competitive racing of Patriarch, one of the top juveniles of last year, after an absence of 298 days due to injury.
Patriarch is burning up the exercise track with some exciting works including a clocking of 1:05.3 for 5 ½ furlongs.
It will not be a slam dunk for Patriarch as this is the first time he is racing in Overnight and against hard knocking older rivals.
Wong Don has not been at his best for a while but is sufficiently talented to strike when least expected. Ras Emanuel did when finishing 2 ½ lengths behind Without Exception after a long break and must have stripped fitter. Ras Emanuel is going to have a say.
Poker Star, now with the Tongue Tie off gets into the fray after 91 days off. He left with good form having beaten Soy El Senor on June 18 over the same distance as this trophy race.
Twilight Dreams and Deal Marker should find the going rough while Zephyr barely lost to Without Exception thereby notifying punters that she was getting back to form.
Gary Glitter has not been himself for a while now and old stager Royal Vibes, after his long absence away is going to need the run.
Diligent, Saratoga Sight and Urban Principal are out of their league.
Soy El Senor is good enough to win in this class but has not found the winning post for a long time.
Patriarch, Poker Star, Ras Emanuel and Zephyr are the leading contenders with the edge going to Patriarch.
