KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Caymanas Saturday first of nine races – a three-year-old maiden condition contest over 6 furlongs – was made into a procession by grey colt Aphelios.

Ridden by Linton Steadman for trainer Richard Phillipps, Aphelios set off in front from the get go and from then he was never challenged.

In the stretch drive Steadman just had to keep Aphelios going, which he easily did winning by a margin of 11 ½ lengths.

Fault Line (Oneil Mullings) was second and Letters In Gold (Matthew Bennett) third.

Aphelios was the 16th winner this season for Steadman, and the first for Phillipps.
