KINGSTON, Jamaica – Uncle Vernon took the Caymanas Wednesday seventh – a five-year-old and upwards non-winners of four contest travelling six furlongs.

Jockey Youville Pinnock on Uncle Vernon kept his mount behind the early front runners as Super Amia setting the fractions with Bala Gris (Dane Dawkins) being the closest pursuer.

Over the final bend, De Inevitable (Anthony Thomas) made a move on the outside as three horses were locked together at the top of the straight.

Pinnock then placed the Roy Matthews trainee on the inside rails and Uncle Vernon quickly increased the tempo to gain the advantage.

Bala Gris responded to Dawkins in the final furlong as they rallied with a late effort but Uncle Vernon was not for the catching on the day.

Hecandance (Chris Mamdeen) ran on strongly to get third.
