KINGSTON, Jamaica – Punters after wagering over $6 million in the Reggae-6 exotic wager got off to a wobbling start following the victory by the Ray Phillips trained, Tevin Foster ridden Strikinglygorgeous at odds of 11-1 in the Caymanas Saturday first.

The upset win by Strikinglygorgeous was achieved in a three-year-old and upwards claiming ($250,000 - $200,000) event at 5 ½ furlongs.

It was Justsaytheword (Ruja Lahoe) and Mr Lyndhurst who vied for the early lead when the gates opened with Foster on Strikinglygorgeous stalking in third on the outside.

The duel between Justsaytheword and Mr Lyndhurst did not last long as April Spirit (Jordan Barrett) and Strikinglygorgeous took over. Entering the straight both were locked together but Strikinglygorgeous propelled to the front skittering away to win by over five lengths.

Second running on was Sly Stalloon (Jawara Steadman) with Justsaytheword third.
