KINGSTON, Jamaica – It a dog fight over the last two furlongs coming down the five-straight course in the Caymanas Saturday sixth, first by the post Mamacita (Javaniel Paterson) was disqualified and placed second behind Talented Tony K (Robert Halledeen).
As soon as the race ended with Mamacita getting home by a slim margin of 3/4 length over Talented Tony K, the announcement of a stewards’ inquiry was made public. Minutes later it was also announced that the jockey on Talented Tony K had lodged an objection.
The stewards stated that Mamacita was disqualified for intimidation and causing interference to Talented Tony K, hence the reversal of the plaicngs as they went by the winning post.
Blu Attitude (Youville Pinnock) finished third.
