KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Anthony Thomas rode his third winner on the day in the Caymanas Saturday seventh aboard the Ian Parsard trained Double Crown.
Double Crown after some rather scratchy performances of late found his best form in an Overnight Allowance (three-year-old and upwards) contest at a mile.
As expected, it was Jamai Raja (Natalie Berger) who set off in front followed by the 1-2 favourite Sentient (Robert Halledeen) with Double Crown lurking not far away.
After four furlongs were completed Thomas took the decision to send Double Crown on and after sparring with Jamai Raja for about half-a-furlong took over and that was that.
Double Crown looked good in the straight as he galloped strongly to win by six lengths in a time of 1:40.2.
Outsider Chinamax (Samantha Fletcher) was second with Legality (Dane Nelson) coming on for third.
