KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Anthony Nunes in a dramatic last day flourish has climbed into Wayne’s DaCosta’s even more as Orpheus dropping down to claiming with Shane Ellis in the saddle won the fifth race minutes ago to give Nunes his third winner on the day and Ellis his second at Caymanas Park on the last race meeting of 2018.
Nunes earned another $393,100 to be behind DaCosta by just over $600,000. Orpheus won at odds of 1-9 after which 52 claims were entered with trainer Alford Brown coming out as the winner of the claiming draw.
Second was Diligent at 16-1 and third Yolove at 18-1. The winning time for six and a half furlongs was 1:20.1.
