KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Fitzroy Glispie trained Money Monster after enduring injuries which curtailed his three-year-old career showed a glimpse of his true worth with a gate to wire winning performance of significance under the guidance of apprentice Youville Pinnock.
Money Monster by Casual Trick – She’s Traditional got a flying start to lead and was first challenged by City Counsel who effort was quickly repelled.
Then even money favourite foreigner Awesome Treasure with Dane Nelson aboard moved down steadily on the inside rails and joined Money Monster at the top of the straight.
The two riders were giving nothing away as they sought victory but Money Monster was stronger than Awesome Treasure winning by just under a length. Third went to Big Big Daddy (Dane Dawkins).
The winning time of 1:19.3 must be taken into consideration given the slow track over the last two race days.
