KINGSTON, Jamaica – Lord Ashton under apprentice Roger Hewitt came pounding down the middle of the race track from behind the leaders in this straight contest to emerge as the winner at odds of 3-5.
With Anaso (Robert Halledeen) and Task Force (Aaron Chatrie) carrying the runners from the gates and also when the horses entered the race track proper, it was left to Lord Ashton to challenge the leaders.
Inside the final furlongs, Lord Ashton showing his likeness for the straight, gathered momentum to power by all to win by 1 ¼ lengths.
Anaso was second and Lala Diva third.
