RACE DISTANCE: Five furlongs round

SPLITS: 23.2 x 47.0

FINAL TIME: 1:02.0

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The last time he raced King’s Magician sold down the board but did not sparkle on the day.

Today the Performing Magic – Regency chestnut colt trained by Philip Feanny and ridden by Linton Steadman who replaced Ian Spence in the saddle made amends for his connections.

The race was delayed for a while as horse number five Prince Marshall bolted when inside his starting stall.

At the off, King’s Magician set off in front and was quickly confronted by Oldkingcole (Dane Nelson). That confrontation did not last long as King’s Magic sped away to enter the straight in front.

He coupled nicely in the final furlong to win by 2 ¾ lengths over Sweet Majesty (Chris Mamdeen) running at odds of 31-1. Third was Amy The Butcher.
