KINGSTON, Jamaica – Sweet Renisha, the beneficiary of a patient and well-judged ride by Hakeem Pottinger, got her act on late in the straight to deny 3-5 favourite Sheboom (Robert Halledeen) in the Caymanas Saturday second a short while ago.

Sweet Renisha and Pottinger could not go with the early leaders as Another Cookie, My Smokey and Quarandero set the fractions with Sheboom clipping at their hoofs.

Racing on the inside rails Sweet Renisha trained by Richard Todd, watched as Another Cookie took over with a burst with 4 ½ furlongs left in the race.

Another Cookie’s lead was short-lived as Halledeen pushed Sheboom to the front. At this time Pottinger was urging Sweet Renisha on the rails.

Sheboom looked all over the winner with one furlong to go but started to falter and Sweet Renisha going best of the rest went by without a fuss winning by two lengths.

She Boom was second and Another Cookie third.
