KINGSTON, Jamaica – Abigail Able was as resolute and determined as can be in piloting the Wayne DaCosta trained Casual Affair to victory in the Caymanas Saturday seventh.
Able broke well when the starter opened the starting stalls. After completed the first two furlongs Able started to angle Casual Affair to the preferred outside rails when coming down the straight course.
The young apprentice had to dig deep as Striking Lady (Roger Hewitt) was persistently challenging but Able kept Casual Affair going to win by 1 ¼ lengths.
Striking Lady was second and K D Rocket third.
This was Able’s fourth career win and all have been for trainer DaCosta.
Her previous winners were England’s Rose, Rojorn Di Pilot and Drummer Boy.
The winning time was 59.4.
