KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seventh race on Saturday, June 25, 2022, sees 10 – three-year-old maidens facing the starter in a quick five-furlongs round sprint.
Below THE QUICK GALLOPER assesses the ten horses declared to start in the order of their draw positions.
– Jungle Boogie is a bay colt (April 14) by Soul Warrior out of Ashley Call trained by Anthony Nunes with Linton Steadman in the saddle. Jungle Boogie is still learning the trade.
– Babylon Will Fall is a chestnut filly (February 3) by Sensational Slam out of Karlie trained by Alford Brown with Daniel Satchell in the saddle. Babylon Will Fall has been absent from competitive racing for 175 days. This filly was taken out of her last two races, but has returned to exercise with some improved efforts, and should put in a good run. Note, Babylon Will Fall races with the visor off and first-time Lasix.
– Sugar Daddy is a chestnut colt (April 8) by Traditional out of I Have A Dream trained by Patrick Lynch with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Sugar Daddy came to prominence on his last outing (June 18) with a second-place finish behind Flight Time coming from off the pace at five furlongs straight. Goes up in the weights by seven pounds, which will not unduly hinder this developing colt.
– Empress Nakelia is a chestnut filly (February 28) by Deputy Glitters out of Aguila trained by Robert Ffrench with Odeen Edwards in the saddle. Races for the first time, and therefore needs time.
– The Gifted One is a bay colt (May 30) by Buzz Nightmare out of Venice Mellesa trained by Phillip Lee with Ramon Nepare in the saddle. A learning experience for this first-time starter.
– Sir Ragbar Bapi is a bay gelding (March 30) by Storm Craft out of Lady Najariya trained by Rowan Mathie with Oneil Scott in the saddle. The trend of finishing way behind rivals will continue for Sir Ragbar Bapi in this his fifth appearance.
– Dujour is a dark bay filly (March 21) by Force De Jour out of First Kiss trained by Roy Matthews with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. Did well to finish third seven days ago, now against these his task will be more difficult.
– Fearless Fire is a chestnut filly (April 15) by Fearless Vision out of Morebulletstofire trained by Dale Murphy with Omar Walker in the saddle. This filly has been showing good efforts in her races and has been putting in the effort. Can hit the board.  Note, Fearless Fire races with the blinkers on and the figure 8 off.
– Noble Impulse is a chestnut colt (June 26) by Midnight Hawk out of Herroyalhighness trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Noble Impulse has been well prepared for his debut with clockers anticipating a winning entry.
– Last Bid is a bay colt (May 4) by Soul Warrior out of Circle The Heart trained by Gary Griffiths with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. Has been steadily coming into his own and is expected to be in the thick when the winning post arrives. Note, Last Bid races with first-time Lasix.
