KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth race on Saturday (August 13) is a three-year-old maiden contest at five furlongs round.
These maiden races of late have been dominated by the barn of champion trainer Anthony Nunes, and there is a strong suggestion that this trend will continue.
Eleven horses are entered in this contest with the analysis provided below by THE QUICK GALLOPER.
1 – AMAD ALI is a chestnut colt (March 7) by Traditional out of Adina, who is racing for the first time. Amad Ali is trained by Gary Subratie with Richard Henry in the saddle. Said to be coming along nicely at exercise without setting off the pigeons, with his best hope being a minor share.
2 – MONEY BOY is a dark bay colt (May 15) by Tapilu out of Lady Elaine, who is racing for the first occasion. Money Boy is trained by Byron Davis with Kareen Garvey in the saddle. Cannot be considered in this one and will learn from the experience.
3 – ASURETY is a chestnut gelding (March 9) by Perfect Curlin out of Sure to Come trained by Edward Stanberry with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Asurety has failed to impress thus far in his career and will be found wanting once more. Note, Asurety races with the tongue tie and figure 8 off.
4 – STORM A COME is a bay colt (March 9) by Storm Craft out of Terra Marique trained by Patrick Lynch with Dane Dawkins in the saddle. Storm A Come is learning his way and does have a chance of getting off the mark. The presence of the leading rider adds to the winning percentage of Storm A Come.
5 – LORD BURKINGTON is a bay gelding (April 10) by Storm Craft out of Lady Najariya trained Gary Subratie with Andre Powell in the saddle. Lord Burkington was prominent in his first start 14 days ago. He has shown signs of progress in the mornings and is set to give an improved performance with winning a strong possibility.
6 – SIR RAGBAR BAPI is a bay gelding (March 30) by Storm Craft out of Najariya trained by Rowan Mathie with Oneil Scott in the saddle. In his seven outings to date, Sir Ragbar Bapi has not demonstrated anything of worth.
7 – LADY LAWLA is a bay filly (March 17) by Clock Work out of the Marshal’s Diva trained by Tensang Chung with Shane Richardson in the saddle. Lady Lawla still has much to learn.
8 – DREAM OF PARIS is a chestnut filly (April 29) by Silent Valor out of Kam To The World trained by Edward Stanberry with Samantha Fletcher in the saddle. Dream of Paris needs more time. Note, Dream of Paris races with the blinkers on.
9 – FEARLESS FIRE is a chestnut filly (April 15) by Fearless Vision out of Morebulletstofire trained by Dale Murphy with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. This filly is steadily improving as evidenced by her second-place effort just 14 days ago. Tomorrow, Fearless Fire faces a moderate set of rivals, with her possibility of winning greatly improved. Note, Fearless Fire races with the blinkers off and the visor on.
10 – FUNOMETER is a dark bay colt (April 12) by Traditional out of Opulent trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Funometer returns from a layoff of 117 days, having faced richer company in his seven starts to date. He has not been unduly pushed in the mornings and may need the run to find himself. However, the trend in recent times is for Nunes to win these maiden races, so, no one will be surprised if Funometer continues to do the same.
11 – GIVEMETHELIGHT is a grey colt (March 9) by Nasheet out of Skipping Sue trained by Gary Griffiths with Chris Mamdeen in the saddle. Steadily coming along and a good run is expected.
