KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seventh race on Saturday, October 22, 2022, is for three-year-old native-bred horses (non-winners of two), and for maiden foreigners at nine furlongs and 25 yards.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S review of the seven horses nominated is published below.
1 – LION OF EKATI is a US-bred dark bay gelding (February 14) by Tale of Ekati out of Indian Conduct trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen aboard. The longer trip will suit the hoofs of Lion of Ekati. He races against tame rivals, thereby giving this foreigner every chance of winning on local soil for the first occasion.
2 – DON VINCENZO is a bay colt (May 27) by Savoy Stomp out of Exotic Selection trained by Spencer Chung with Omar Walker aboard. Learning the trade at this level.
3 – THIRTYONEKISSES is a bay filly (April 11) by Savoy Stomp out of Shahar trained by Richard Azan with Dane Dawkins aboard. Note, Thirtyonekisses races with the blinkers off. This filly has been running some competitive races of late and will hit the board.
4 – SONNY T AND CHIPPY is a bay colt (May 27) by Savoy Stomp out of Trinket Box trained by Spencer Chung with Dick Cardenas aboard. Note, Sonny T And Chippy races with the blinkers on, and the visor and tongue tie on. Returns to his rightful space after being consumed in the Derby. Sonny T And Chippy has won over two turns before, and with some useful spins in the mornings is poised for a winning effort.
5 – FLY MESSENGER FLY is a chestnut filly (April 27) by Northern Giant out of Preach Preacher trained by Jason DaCosta with Javaniel Patterson in the saddle. Not lacking in experience with 25 runs to her credit, Fly Messenger Fly now faces rivals she can manage, giving her a real chance of winning.
6 – SECRET EMPEROR is a bay gelding (February 16) by Emperor Hall out of Secret Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Anthony Allen. The distance is going to be taxing for Secret Emperor.
7 – FYFFES PEN LIZ is a grey filly (January 28) by Midnight Hawk out of Sexy Moon trained by Ryan Darby with Oneil Mullings in the saddle. Was charging home over 7 ½ furlongs, 14 days ago making 9 furlongs and 25 yards right for Fyffes Pen Liz. Watch this one closely.
