KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seventh event on the 10-race Saturday (October 1, 2022) card is a three-year-old (non-winners of two) contest in which ten horses have been nominated. The distance is six furlongs.
This knotty affair is analysed below by THE QUICK GALLOPER.
– THIRTYONEKISSES is a bay filly (April 11) by Savoy Stomp out of Shahar trained by Richard Azan with Dane Dawkins aboard. Displayed a welcome return to form with a close fourth place finish 11 days aback over the same distance of Saturday’s race. In that race, Thirtyonekisses was prominent with the leaders, losing some ground in the final furlong. With that effort under her girth, Thirtyonekisses can get the job done, plus the change in the saddle from Jordan Barrett to Dane Dawkins is significant.
– TOTAL PROSPERITY (USA) is a bay filly by Danza out of One Hot Romance trained by Errol Subratie with Aaron Chatrie aboard. Total Prosperity will learn.
– NOBEL IMPULSE is a chestnut colt (June 23) by Midnight Hawk out of Herroyalhighness trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster aboard. Nobel Impulse is quickly coming to grips with life at this level. This colt is racing for the third time in three weeks, is in the best form, and has a shout.
– MARKET PLACE is a bay filly (February 25) by Market Rally out of Miss Emily trained by Gresford Smith with Christopher Mamdeen aboard. Did exceptionally well when finishing second behind Rubyistheone on September 17. Market Place is lightly raced (four runs) but does posses some amount of talent. THE QUICK GALLOPER is giving Market Place a good chance of winning this one. Watch Market Place closely.
– HA GOW SIU MEI is a bay colt (February 23) by Sensational Slam out of Gaining Traction trained by Anthony Nunes with Anthony Thomas aboard. Ultra-consistent colt, hitting the board on all seven occasions he has faced the starter. That trend will continue Saturday. Note, Ha Gow Siu Mei races with the cheek pieces on.
– JUSTIN BIDEN is a chestnut gelding (April 15) by Lion Tamer out of Wagon Wheel trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Shane Richardson aboard. Racing in non-winners of two for the first time, and will need time to acclimatize.
– ONE LIKE IT is a chestnut colt (January 28) by Deputy Glitters out of Sandbath trained by Gresford Smith with Omar Walker aboard. Note, that One Like It races with the visor on. This change of equipment is significant as One Like It seems to run better with the visor on. One Like It is poised to win his second race.
– BROMPTON ALEX is a chestnut gelding (April 23) by Lion Tamer out of Peccadillo trained by Ryan Darby with Matthew Bennett aboard. Not ready to handle these.
– FLY MESSENGER FLY is a chestnut filly (April 27) by Northern Giant out of Preach Preacher trained by Jason DaCosta with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Although well backed on September 11, Fly Messenger Fly did not give of her best. A better but not a winning effort is expected on Saturday.
– A GIFT FROM BEN is a chestnut filly (April 29) by Here Comes Ben out of Sage’s Giftbox trained by Rowan Mathie with Dick Cardenas aboard. This experienced filly (13 starts) returned to form 11 days ago with a close third place effort behind winner Silent Mission. There is enough evidence to suggest that, A Gift From Ben is on a potential winning course.
