KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second race on Saturday, September 24, 2022, is the fourth two-year-old offering this racing year.
Six ‘babies’ are entered with THE QUICK GALLOPER providing not only an assessment of the six starters but also the exercise gallops of the first-timers. 1 – SHE’S A MIRAGE is a bay filly (March 29) by Casual Trick out of Full Moon’s Enough trained by Jason DaCosta with Abigail Able aboard. She’s A Mirage was down to race for the first time on September 10, but was withdrawn. Seems to be filling space. Note, that She’s A Mirage races with first-time Lasix.
2 – THE BEES KNEES is a bay filly (January 26) by Savoy Stomp by Awesome Sauce trained by Richard Azan with Omar Walker aboard. Will learn from the experience. On September 12, The Bees Knees galloped three furlongs in a time of 37.0 seconds. Then on September 19, the bay filly galloped four furlongs in 51.3 seconds.
3 – AWESOME ANTHONY is a chestnut colt (March 27) by Soul Warrior out of Antoinette trained by Patrick Taylor with Oshane Nugent aboard. Awesome Anthony has been catching the eye in the mornings. Awesome Anthony is coming to run. Note, Antoinette has already produced Deep Blue Sea and XY Soul.
4 – CRUCIAL ALEXXYA is a chestnut (March 8) by Admiral Alex out of Crucial Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Omar Walker aboard. Not ready yet. Note, that Crucial Alexxya races with the visor and tongue tie on plus first-time Lasix.
5 – WHIZZ KIDD is a bay colt (April 19) by Northern Giant out of Mayken Joy trained by Jason DaCosta with Jerome Innis aboard. Whizz Kid is now the most experienced on this year’s two-year-old lot. Should be on the board. Note, that Whizz Kid races with first-time Lasix.
6 – LIFE IS LIFE is a bay gelding (February 18) by Natural Selection out of Little Wasp trained by Jason DaCosta with Anthony Thomas aboard. Has caught the eye at exercise with most pundits giving him the winning nod. Life Is Life galloped four furlongs in 48.4 seconds on September 10 and then galloped 47.3 seconds over four furlongs on September 17.
