KINGSTON, Jamaica – The third race on Saturday, November 19, 2022, is the annual renewal of the 7-furlong Abbie Grannum Memorial Cup for two-year-old maidens.

Eight horses are entered, with the two-year-olds travelling over the longest distance thus far this season.

The Quick Galloper provides the analysis of the horses entered.

1 – LOYAL ACTION is a bay colt (February 22) by Western Classic out of Fast Action trained by Gary Crawford with Andre Powell aboard. A newcomer to the game, who needs time to gain experience.

2 – SHE’S MYHEDGEFUND is a chestnut filly (March 3) by Hedge Fund out of Thisgirlisonfire trained by Jason DaCosta with Dane Dawkins aboard. A member of the seasoned juvenile cohort, She’s Myhedgefund finished second, all of 15 lengths behind Bootylicious, but was in front of Whizz Kidd. Has the experience to get off the mark. Note, She’s Myhedgefund races with the tongue tie on.

3 – MODERN MIRACLE is a chestnut colt (March 3) by Hedge Fund out of Sound of Miracle trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster aboard. Modern Miracle has raced once finishing third 12 lengths behind Durocell, and Whizz Kidd. This chestnut colt is progressing, and now finds himself in a wide- open contest, with winning a distinct possibility.

4 – RHYTHM BUZZ is a bay colt (April 22) by Buzz Nightmare out of River Rhythm trained by Vincent Atkinson with Linton Steadman aboard. Rhythm Buzz faces the starter for the first occasion with experience being his objective.

5 – PRINCESS TALISE is a bay filly (April 17) by Savoy Stomp out of Dancing Queen trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Princess Talise has shown some speed in her three starts and has a good enough chance of winning as any.

6 – WHIZZ KIDD is a bay colt (April 19) by Northern Giant out Makeyn Joy trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen aboard. Whizz Kidd has had six starts to date and that alone gives him the edge. A perfect opportunity to get off the mark.

7 – SHOAMITHEBUTCHER is a bay filly (February 28) by Nuclear Wayne out of Asia’s Dream trained by Patrick Fong with Paul Francis aboard. Still learning what racing is all about. Note, Shoamithebutcher races with the tongue tie on.

8 – THE BEES KNEES is a bay filly (January 26) by Savoy Stomp out of Awesome Sauce trained by Richard Azan with Reyan Lewis aboard. The Bees Knees has had one uninspiring first run 56 days ago, with expectations higher this time. Note, The Bees Knees races with the blinkers on and the cheek pieces off.
