KINGSTON, Jamaica – Top-notch rider Shane Ellis known in and out of racing as ‘The Canter Man’ won his 1,300th race at Caymanas Park when he piloted Yellowstone to victory in the third of 10 races on the Saturday card of April 23.
Ellis, who is currently number three on the list of riders with the most wins behind leader Winston Griffiths and Trevor Simpson, had very little to do on the Alford Brown-trained Yellowstone.
Yellowstone, racing for the second time, went to lead in the three-year-old maiden contest at 5 ½ furlongs and was never in any danger throughout.
Following Yellowstone, most of the way was Freedom Street (Raddesh Roman) who finished second with Code of Conduct (Dane Dawkins) third.
