KINGSTON, Jamaica - The 4th race on Saturday, December 23, 2023, is a maiden special weight event for two-year-olds going five furlongs straight.

Seven starters will compete, with The Quick Galloper providing analysis to predict the winner. This analysis is done in draw order. 

1 - THE SOUL WARRIOR is a grey colt (March 21) by Storm Craft out of Amanda Panda, trained by Phillip Lee and ridden by Ramon Nepare. Amanda Panda has already produced The Trojan Warrior. Having prepared for his debut for some time now, The Soul Warrior is expected to deliver a strong performance.

2 - SHERIFF IN TOWN is a chestnut colt (March 11) by Sensational Slam out of Antoinette, trained by Patrick Taylor and ridden by Javaniel Patterson. Antoinette has previously produced Deep Blue Sea, XY Soul, and Awesome Anthony. Nominated to start on October 15 but declared a late non-starter due to lameness, Sheriff In Town has since made significant strides in the mornings. Observers report a speedy contender in this colt – keep an eye on Sheriff In Town.

3 - GO WEST YOUNG MAN is a bay colt (May 23) by Western Mirror out of Uncle Tammy, trained by Tensang Chung and ridden by Matthew Bennett. Uncle Tammy has previously produced Grey Commander. Positive reports from clockers indicate that Go West Young Man is ready to be among the front runners in this race.

4 - BUZZ MARIE is a chestnut filly (March 30) by Buzz Nightmare out of Free Marie, trained by Lincoln Lungs and ridden by Matthew Bennett. She finished far behind in her racing debut on December 10 and did not show any noteworthy improvements on subsequent races.

5 - FIRST OFFENSE is a bay colt (February 21) by Conquest Cherimash out of Official Report, trained by Steven Todd and ridden by Dane Dawkins. Agile during exercises, this colt may need to wait for future success.

6 - BROWNIE BROWN is a chestnut filly (April 29) by Shackleville out of Alienate, trained by Winchester McIntosh and ridden by Bebeto Harvey. She performed well in her debut (December 10), finishing four lengths behind Oh So Smart at four furlongs. With observed improvement in training, Brownie Brown is set for another strong performance. Consider her for the exacta.

7 - WORLD SURPRISE is a bay colt (April 17) by Sunshine N Shadow out of Eighteen Karat, trained by Anthony Nunes and ridden by Tevin Foster. Initially slated to debut on December 17 but disrupted by running away from handlers, World Surprise enters this straight five competition well-prepared and favoured to triumph.
