KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2024, three-year-old season has made a weak start with small fields the order of the day in races designed for that category of horses.

The fourth event of nine on Saturday, January 4, 2024, a three-year-old maiden call at seven furlongs, is no different, as only six horses have been nominated.

The Quick Galloper’s looks at the possible outcome, which is provided below for readers.

1 – ALLEGIANCE is a chestnut colt (February 16) by Midnight Hawk out of Princess Geeta, trained by Anthony Nunes with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. This colt is slowly coming to grips with his career choice. Allegiance has raced over seven furlongs before, finishing fifth, 5 ¾ lengths behind Buttercup, Blu Sensation, and Matuso. On Saturday, Allegiance is given a substantial chance of getting off the mark. even though he is allowing weight all round.

2 – WARRIORSTOMP is a bay colt (March 21) by Savoy Stomp out of May Flower, trained by Phillip Elliott with Phillip Parchment aboard. Has faced the starter twice without giving any signal that he is ready for a winning effort. This race is part of the learning curve.

3- VALLEY OF LOVE is a bay filly (March 30) by Spieth out of Cup O Tea, trained by Alfred Davidson with Roger Hewitt holding the reins. Cannot be considered as a possible winner of this event.

4 – BROWNIE BROWN is a chestnut filly (April 29) by Shackleville out of Alienate, trained by Winchester McIntosh with Bebeto Harvey riding. This filly started well by finishing second on debut, losing by four lengths, to winner Oh So Smart at four furlongs. Brownie Brown was entered to race on December 23 but was declared a late non-starter, injured. Now, Brownie Brown moves up from four furlongs to seven, which is always a challenging scenario. Brownie Brown can play a role in the exacta wager.

5 – OIL MACHINE is a chestnut colt (January 28) by Bern Identity out of Keep The Faith, trained by Phillip Elliott with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Needs more time.

6 – BLU SENSATION is a bay filly (February 21) by Sensational Slam out of Blues In The Grass, trained by Peter-John Parsard with Dane Dawkins aboard. The most experienced of this lot, starting on five occasions, with three second-place efforts. Well suited by seven furlongs having already raced over a mile. A large window of opportunity has opened for Blu Sensation.
