Gets home at odds of 5-2
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The evergreen 12-year-old chestnut gelding Fortuneonehundred notched his 25th career victory from 80 starts when he won the Caymanas Saturday (Feb 12) first.
That first event was a five-year-old and upwards Optional Claimer ($180,000 - $150,000) run over 5 ½ furlongs.
Jockey Reyan Lewis sent Fortuneonehundred to the lead as the gates opened, followed by the 4-5 favourite Flying Bullet (Anthony Thomas).
Fortuneonehundred was harassed throughout by Flying Bullet and in the lane, the latter looked likely to get by, but the old-timer Fortuneonehundred found extra pulling away to win by 3 ½ lengths.
Flying Bullet was second with the 13-year-old Powerful Red in the third slot.
Fortuneonehundred is owned and trained by Errol Subratie.
