KINGSTON, Jamaica – Six-time champion jockey Omar Walker reached another significant milestone in his illustrious career when he won his 1,200th race on Pretty Girl in the Caymanas Saturday (May 7) ninth.
Trained by Jason DaCosta, Pretty Girl, racing for the third occasion was victorious in Division Two of a three-year-old maiden special weight event for fillies only going six furlongs.
As soon as the gates opened, Walker hustled Pretty Girl to vie for the lead with Minidewak (Tevin Foster), with Code of Conduct following about three to four lengths behind.
In typical Walker style, he let loose on Pretty Girl with three furlongs to go, and the writing was on the wall for the rest of the field.
Hidden Valley (Dick Cardenas) ran on for second with the newcomer and now one to watch Desha (Youville Pinnock) finishing third.
