KINGSTON, Jamaica - THE Jamaica Racehorse Trainers’ Association Trophy takes centre stage at Caymanas Park on Saturday, December 24, 2022.
The native-bred three-year-old (non-winners of two) call has attracted a field of 11 going over the straight course of 5 furlongs (1,000m).
Below is the analysis of each runner.
1 - LEGAL BOMB: (3 ch c by Legal Process – Fantasy) – Has yet to show anything from his seven outings at this level. Legal Bomb is going to be left behind.
2 - ULTIMATE MACHINE: (3 ch c by Nuclear Wayne – Away) – Made on move on debut to win by 3 lengths over 5 furlongs (1,000m) on the round course on October 17. Ultimate Machine needs time to get assimilated into this grouping.
3 - POWER OF FAITH: (3 ch g by Key To Power – Yield To Faith) – Has some ability but cannot be given a realistic chance of winning.
4 - THE GIFTED ONE: (3 b c by Buzz Nightmare – Venice Mellesa) – Based on current form The Gifted One cannot be recommended.
5 - TAPIT GOOD: (3 ch c by Tapiture – Forty Fifteen) – Finished in sixth position over 4½ furlongs (900m) on December 11. With most of the runners who had finished in front of him present, Tapit Good is going to find a few in his way.
6 - UNRULY DUDE: (3 b c by Bern Identity - Wonder Girl) – Down the track in his last two races but far superior. Unruly Dude is expected to perform better, and with the experience already gained in this grade, has a good chance of winning.
7 - PRINCE SANJAY: (3 ch c by Emperor Hall – Dalla Fifty) – Has been struggling for some time now with that status excepted to continue.
8 - NOMOREDEALS: (3 ch c by Soul Warrior – Thornhill Miss) – Was expected to win the Royal Lancaster Trophy over 6 furlongs on Sunday (December 18) but Nomoredeals finished down the track. From a level break this time, Nomoredeals has a better chance of winning. Note, Nomoredeals races with the blinkers off and the visor off.
9 - HA GOW SIU MEI: (3 bc by Sensational Slam—Gaining Traction) – Finished third by less than a length behind Peaky Blinders and Berlino's Choice over 4 1/2 furlongs on December 11. With second-place Berlino’s Choice not present and the distance increased Ha Gow Siu Mei is set for another competitive effort.
10 - LORD BURKINGTON: (3 ch c by Berlino Di Tiger – Soca Dancer) – Was expected to perform significantly better than his eighth-place finish over 4 1/2 furlongs on December 11. Lord Burkington was more competitive prior over this distance when finishing a close fourth to Giant Wheeler. From this convenient mark, Lord Burkington will not go down without a fight.
11 - FUNOMETER: (3 dkb c by Traditional – Opulent) – Finished in sixth place when stepping up to the level on October 17. Funometer should have benefited from that experience and could spring a surprise.
