KINGSTON, Jamaica - The last two-year-old maiden race of the 2024 racing season is scheduled as the second event on the card for Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Seven juvenile horses are entered, with four making their first appearance on the track.
Here’s a preview of this six-furlong race:
1 - COSALIVIN: A chestnut filly (March 20) by Bold Conquest, out of Sweetyourock. Trained by Gregg Fennell and ridden by Dick Cardenas, this filly is debuting and comes from strong lineage. Observers have noted positive indicators in morning workouts, suggesting a promising first performance.
2 - HONOUR PRINCE: This bay colt (May 19) by Bern Identity, out of Awesome Lucy, is trained by Robert Pearson with Tevin Foster in the saddle. After a narrow defeat by a short head on debut (December 14) over four furlongs, Honour Prince has shown improvement during morning training sessions, leading to the belief he is ready for a winning effort.
3 - BADGAL CALEESI: A bay filly (January 19) by Buzz Nightmare, out of Turbinia. Trained by Howard Bailey and ridden by Samantha Fletcher, she is the most experienced contender, having raced five times. While she is making progress, she may not be quite ready to win yet.
4 - KHALEESI: This grey filly (March 27) by Aveenu Malcainu, out of Cloudy Greyt, is under the care of trainer Carlton Cunningham, with Raddesh Roman as her jockey. A newcomer, Khaleesi has attracted attention from railbirds during morning workouts and is expected to perform well in her first race.
5 - BADGAL CHELSEA: A bay filly by Midnight Hawk out of Karlie, trained by Howard Bailey with Calvin Bailey aboard. She has had three prior starts without notable success, and this pattern is projected to continue.
6 - FAMILY FEUD: A dark brown filly (March 28) by Successful Native, out of Fallabakami. Trained by Winson Morris with Ramon Nepare riding, she is debuting and is said to possess quality, though she may require additional time to mature.
7 - MARK MY IDENTITY: A chestnut colt (March 5) by Bern Identity, out of Sweet Like Sugar. He is trained by Enos Brown, with Richard Henry holding the reins. Having shown good movement in morning sessions, a solid first effort is anticipated from this colt.
