Who Will Reach 100 Winners First? As Foster & Roman Battle Continues

In the race for championship honours and also the first to reach the landmark of 100 wins after nine months of intense rivalry, jockeys Tevin Foster and Raddesh Roman are both locked on 99 wins each.

The penetrating competition involving these two pigskin masters continues on Saturday, October 5, 2024, as Foster has nine rides in the nine races on offer and Roman eight. (See table below)

Raddesh Roman rode three winners on Saturday’s (Sept 28) nine-race card to tie with Tevin Foster atop the standings having started the race day three wins behind Foster. The latter was winless on the day.

Roman’s winners were highlighted by Impressive Force’s victory in the RonRon Trophy. Trained by Philip Feanny, Impressive Force came from behind to dominate the six-furlong Restricted Stakes contest for three-year-olds and upward horses.

Roman’s other winners were Great Trick for trainer Gary Crawford in the seventh race and Brenda Boy for trainer Victory Williams in the eighth race — the Reprieve Trophy.

Then on the following day, both Foster and Roman were responsible for one win each, Sonogram for the former and Sistren Treasure for the latter.

That win by Roman on Sistren Treasure was significant as it pitted both Roman and Foster on Money Miser against each other in a pulsating encounter in the straight. When the dust settled it was Roman and Sistren Treasure by a neck over Money Miser and Foster.

The stage is now set for more intrigue between these two young jockeys.
