KINGSTON, Jamaica – Where Are They Now? Runners in the 2022 Chris Armond Sprint

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2022 Chris Armond Sprint, a 5½ furlong race for three-year-olds and up in the Open Allowance | Graded Stakes category, took place on December 26.

This year's edition is scheduled for Saturday, December 23.

The Quick Galloper revisits the six starters from the 2022 event and their progress or lack thereof since then.

FIRST: SHE'S MY DESTINY - Clocking a fast 1:04.4 in 2022, this filly has since accumulated numerous Grade One victories. She's My Destiny has become an exceptional thoroughbred, thanks to her connections. Based on morning workouts, it seems she'll defend her sprint title on December 23.

SECOND: DUKE – Duke's performance has declined notably since the Chris Armond Sprint, with Father Time seemingly catching up to him. He now struggles to win in the lower Overnight Allowance grade even after multiple attempts.

THIRD: GOD OF LOVE – God of Love has had a lukewarm season post his start in the Chris Armond. Recently, he has found it challenging to secure victories. He remains active but will need to step up in 2024.

FOURTH: EAGLE ONE – After placing fourth in the sprint, this foreign horse completely lost form. Following a long break, Eagle One is now back on the track for morning workouts.

FIFTH: KING ARTHUR - The former Derby winner's performance pales compared to his past glory since the 2022 Chris Armond Sprint. He is still around but must improve.

SIXTH: ALEXA'S SONG: Alexa's Song was outmatched in this Grade One race and hasn't been a frequent winner ever since.
