The journey is set to officially commence with the Hot Line Stakes, exclusively for fillies, and the Sir Howard Stakes, featuring colts and geldings. Both events will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, covering six furlongs.
As Quickgallopja.com gears up to provide comprehensive coverage of the 2025 Classics, we reflect on the present status of runners from the 2024 Hot Line Stakes.
FIRST - ALLEGIANCE: Has consistently taken his time to meet the required conditions, successfully achieving them earlier this year. Now competing in the Overnight Allowance category, Allegiance is poised for victory at this level, though further success may be challenging. With four wins and three second-place finishes, among other accolades, Allegiance has earned just over $4 million.
SECOND - J SPIETH: Began his career with great promise, highlighted by this second -place finish in the Sir Howard Stakes. However, J Spieth has since been underwhelming, failing to live up to initial expectations but remains active in competition.
THIRD - WORLD SURPRISE: After finishing third in the Sir Howard, World Surprise sustained a severe knee injury and was pulled from racing. Tragically, he later passed away on the farm.
FOURTH - PLAYFAIR: Continues to compete but has not achieved significant results from his efforts.
FIFTH - TEFLON DON: Has rarely participated since this race due to ongoing health issues.
SIXTH - PLAYFAIR: Has not raced much since this event and was expected to compete on Saturday, March 8, but was declared a late non-starter.
