KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Quick Galloper takes a look at the progress, or lack of progress of the horses that participated in the 2021 6-furlong Port Royal Sprint run on Saturday, November 13 for Grade One horses.
FIRST: Duke – established himself with this win as the top sprinter around. Since that win, Duke has continued to comfortably pay his way, while earning for his connections. This consistent campaigner will have another go in the Port Royal on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Duke is a credit to his trainer Gary Subratie.
SECOND: Father Patrick – Has since retired from competitive racing. Before retiring, Father Patrick went on to win the Chris Armond Sprint Trophy in December of 2021. Father Patrick is one of the success stories as he successfully continued to race and did so with aplomb after undergoing surgery.
THIRD: Rojorn Di Pilot – Continues to hover between Open Allowance and Overnight Allowance without much success.
FOURTH: Eagle One – Around the grades of Open Allowance and Overnight Allowance without rattling any feathers.
FIFTH: Legality – Nothing positive has happened to Legality since this race.
SIXTH: She’s A Wonder – unfortunately this Classic winning filly has passed on.
SEVENTH: Victory Turn – nothing has been heard from this horse since the Port Royal.
