KINGSTON, Jamaica – After toiling for quite a while as a maiden, Whatever finally shook off that burden when she won the first of 10 races on today’s (Saturday, October 19) programme now underway at Caymanas Park.

Competing in a Maiden Condition contest for four-year-olds and upwards coming down the five straight course, Whatever with apprentice Reyan Lewis in the saddle tacked across to the middle of the track from the one draw as the lead was taken by 12-1 outsider Justsaytheword.

Lewis then made his move with a furlong and a half to go, and Whatever trained by Ryan Darby easily went by the front runners to win at odds of 2-1.

Cali Dreamer (Jemar Jackson 5-2) was second with Justsaytheword (Jerome Innis 12-1) holding for third.

The winning time was a slow 1:03.2.
