KINGSTON, Jamaica - It has been a long–time since jockey Roderick “Teddy” DaCosta who is now based and lives in Canada entered the winners’ enclosure on home turf at home turf - Caymanas Park for the first time in a long while.
DaCosta ended the drought when he guided the Fitzgerald Richards trained Ridewiththemob, racing with the blinkers off and the visor on, in the sixth race on the mid-week card – a maiden condition event for four-year-olds and upwards run over seven furlongs.
DaCosta had to dig deep to hold off fast finishing Obsession and apprentice Kiaman McGregor – getting the win by a short head. Third went to Perfect Union.
