KINGSTON, Jamaica - Jockey Samantha Fletcher got off the mark at the Century Mile race track in Canada, aboard a chance ride, Behind The Curtain for trainer Cheryl Humbke.
Behind The Curtain under Fletcher’s guidance, was successful in the sixth race of eight, a six-furlong call on the dirt.
Fletcher had to battle hard to get his first win against countryman Dane Nelson aboard Bratton. Fletcher got the edge at the winning post.
The post-race report reads as follows: “BEHIND THE CURTAIN hustled inside, held a short advantage entering the far turn, responded gamely to challenge from Bratton”.
