KINGSTON, Jamaica - Jockey Dane Dawkins continued his winning efforts at the Assiniboia Downs racetrack in Canada, with a double on Monday night (July 15, 2024).
The first of Dawkins’ double was achieved in race two atop the Carl Norman Anderson trained Dawn The Devil in a six-furlong maiden special weight call.
After being impeded while taking the turn, Dawkins rallied Dawn The Devil (horse #1 in red silks) to launch a winning run in the straight.
The post-race report reads as follows. “DAWN OF THE DEVIL pressed inside, in tight into turn, checked, hit rail, dropped back, rallied outside, took over late. DAISYSADOOZY, wide early, advanced to duel three-wide turn, opened up stretch, tired late.”
